“‘Re-Asia Project’: Pilgrimage to Mazu” unfolds as a dual-channel experiment that advances through both on-site receivers and off-site field research. Along the way, scholars and artists join the process at appointed junctures, echoing the project’s foundational premise: an experiment without a fixed list of participating artists or a predetermined exhibition outcome.
Recently, artist Xu Yunxuan undertook a divination ritual on their own accord; the ancestral master signalled agreement for their participation in this pilgrimage to Mazu. It has now been four days since the voyage began. This stage of the project presents selected fragments as an interim chapter—shared here to mark the unfolding.
